Terms & Conditions

• QUALIFICATIONS: To be accepted for training sessions or walks, your pup must be healthy, social, current on all vaccinations & flu shots, spayed or neutered, & under flea & tick treatment. All Mutts must also have a current license: if you choose not to attach the license to your dog’s collar, please make sure I have a current copy for my records.

• KEYS/ENTRY: If I am to enter your home at any time when you’re not there, one set of keys *or* an access code must be provided by the owner; for recurring service, I will make one duplicate to have on hand as a spare in case of emergency, which will be kept in a secure location at my office.

• COLLARS/HARNESS: For your pet’s safety, collars must fit snugly & securely, and a harness is preferred to avoid strain on your dog’s neck. If your Mutt is able to slip his collar or harness, a more suitable one must be provided by the owner.

• WALKER TAGS: For recurring walks, Moxie Mutts will provide your Mutt with a ‘walker tag’ with my company information printed on it, in the event that your Mutt wanders off from the pack & is found while on a hike. If you remove this tag from your dog’s collar, it relinquishes Moxie Mutts from any responsibility if your dog goes missing during a hike.

• PICK UP: Pick up times vary slightly from day to day for daily walks, but I try to remain consistent within the window provided: please make sure your Mutt is home & ready to go - collared & harnessed during this timeframe.

• COMMUNICATIONS: Moxie Mutts will notify you of any changes to the schedule in advance via email, following up with reminders via text as event dates approach. I also provide you with a daily text message after every session: texts often include a photo of your Mutt and a relative update, with occasional specific details of your Mutts’ behavior. I often post these pictures on Facebook &/or Instagram: if you prefer for your Mutt’s pics to NOT be shared on social media, please make sure to let me know.

• HOLIDAYS & VACATIONS: services are not offered on federal holidays – for recurring clients, I will provide you with a yearly breakdown of these dates, along with any vacation plans in advance, and will remind you of these dates via text as they get close.

• WEATHER: On days when the weather is especially hot, cold, smoky or rainy, training sessions or hikes may need to be cut short, rescheduled or cancelled.

• PAYMENT: Payment for all services are in advance and/or by subscription, booked on my website via my scheduling service, and your credit card will be charged on the date you sign up.

• CANCELLATIONS: Please use the Cancel/Change button on your confirmation &/or reminder email. For recurring walks I bill on a monthly flat rate system, which provides a number of ‘free days’ per month/year, so cancellations are not reimbursed, as you are ‘reserving a spot’ in one of our awesome daily hikes.

• EXPIRATION: You have 6 months from the date of purchase to use the service you booked. Up to then, feel free to cancel or reschedule any scheduled sessions, and if you’d like a refund for any reason I am happy to oblige - no questions asked.

• INJURIES: If your pet is injured while under my care, I am fully certified in animal first aid & CPR & will administer &/or seek immediate & appropriate treatment - beyond that, the first choice for medical treatment is your personal vet, so please make sure I have this information on file. If your vet is not available, I will take your pet to a local, on call vet in San Francisco. Payment for all vet bills, including the bills of an animal or person injured by your dog, is the owner’s responsibility. Please note: the trails we frequent do sometimes contain snakes, coyotes, mice, ticks, and foxtails; I do my best to protect your pets on hikes, but if they do come into contact with any of these things & need to be treated, expense for treatment is the owner’s responsibility.
